The Calgary Zoo has been recognized as Canada’s most visited Zoo welcoming more than 1.3 Million visitors per year and in 2013 was described by the Association of Zoos and Aquariums as one of the top zoos in the world.
The Olympic Plaza in Calgary was built for the 1988 Olympic Winter Games and was responsible for hosting the medal ceremonies for the games where many traveling fans packed the plaza to watch these presentations.
The Calgary Tower which is the most prominent landmark in the skyline of Calgary, was built in 1967 to celebrate Canada’s 100th birthday as part of an urban renewal plan.
