Where To Eat In Pittsburgh - Meat & Potatoes
Meat & Potatoes, located in the heart of Pittsburgh's Cultural District, is the city’s first gastropub. This chic, modern space specializes in New American dinners, well-imagined brunch items and refreshing mixed drinks. Meat & Potatoes strives to pay homage to the simplicity and comfort found in classic home cooking and their menu, designed by Chef and Owner Richard DeShantz, was built to focus on providing unmatched flavor to traditional staples of American cuisine. Meat & Potatoes offers all of the charm of your typical neighborhood pub but their décor isn’t lost with the times boasting open ceilings, bright feature walls, quirky art and communal seating that provide an amazing atmosphere.
Established in 2011, this gastropub serves beer and spirits that are just as high quality as their food. Their full bar includes an extensive beer and wine list as well as one of Pittsburgh's first cutting-edge mixology programs. Although their mixology programs are new and cutting edge, their cocktails are much more classic with these handcrafted drinks honoring the times of the Prohibition and the Repeal. Located within walking distance to PPG Paints Arena, PNC Park and Heinz Field, the homes of the Pittsburgh Penguins, Pittsburgh Pirates and Pittsburgh Steelers respectively, you are never far away from a great meal!
Their offerings range from a number of amazing appetizers, including their Bone Marrow, to their flatbreads, their salads, their mussels, their entrees and their “Build Your Own Meal” section. This part of the menu lets you combine their 45 oz. ribeye with your own choice of sauce, potato style and side. Meant to serve 2 people, you can really make some great meals this way! We really enjoy their Braised Lamb Shank that came served with pasta fagioli, broccoli rabe and a rosemary crumble. We also recommend trying their Chicken and Dumpling entrée as well as their Mushroom Flatbread, two dishes that we would order again in a heartbeat! Meat & Potatoes is a great choice for a high-quality meal in Pittsburgh.
When considering where to eat in Pittsburgh try Meat & Potatoes. Always a popular destination for sports fans traveling to Pittsburgh for a Pittsburgh Steelers game at Heinz Field, a Pittsburgh Pirates game at PNC Park or Pittsburgh Penguins game at PPG Paints Arena!
